Since October 2010, I've worked (in Chicago, IL) at [wire] stone, a digital marketing agency that uses a variety of mediums to deliver touch points of power and beauty that surprise and engage audiences.
At [wire] stone I write copy across multiple, fast-moving accounts. I also serve as a producer, working with a small internal team of designers and developers, as well as an extended team who get their hands dirty in emerging experiences, social media and a number of other pretty cool happenings in the world of marketing and advertising.
I got into copywriting by way of literature and writing, earning BA in English in 2005 and an MFA in Creative Writing in 2007. I then spent time at Vibes Media, where I was able to both pilfer knowledge from a boss with a deep background in strategic marketing and manage a fantastic team of designers and developers.
Over the past few years I've realized that, while I'll always jump at the opportunity to create engaging copy, I also thrive on the opportunity to manage projects and lead a deliverable (and a team) from conception to delivery.

Q: Why is there an “e” at the end of your name?
A: Good question. Though I'm not entirely sure, as I was not around to witness its origin, I believe it has something to do with either Keith Van Horn, the former collegiate and NBA basketball player, or Keith Van Horne, the former NFL lineman for the Chicago Bears.
Q: Is the sole purpose of this FAQs section simply to balance this page and allow you to leave the large strongman graphic on the right?
A: Yes. Shall we continue?
Q: I notice you're a short story writer. Which authors do you enjoy most?
A: Thanks for noticing. My favorite authors, in order of height (as I imagine it to be) are: Donald Barthelme, Robert Coover, Steven Millhauser, Italo Calvino, Seth Fried, Rick Bass, Woody Allen.
